Satish Madhavan is a well-respected member of the Rotary community, known for his dedication to excellence and community-building. He is also a distinguished professional who has excelled in both business and community endeavours. Born in Chennai and raised in Kolar Golf Fields, Satish has been an active citizen of Bangalore since the 1980s.
As a charter member of the Rotary Bangalore Rajarajeshwari Nagar Centennial, Satish has played a pivotal role in shaping the club's activities and serving the community. He served as the club's 6th president and has held various leadership positions in the district, including District Secretary, Assistant Governor, Deputy District Trainer, Club Service Director, Zone Governor, Training Team Coordinator, Director Awards and Recognitions, and District Conference Chairman. He also helped lay the roadmap for the successful re-districting of District 3190 into Districts 3191 and 3192 as Secretary of the District Re-organization Committee. This effort was appreciated within the district and beyond.
Satish's dedication to Rotary has been recognised with numerous awards, including the Star President and Excellence Award, Best Club Award in the Medium Category in 2010-11, Go Getter of the Year Award, Outstanding Service Award during his tenure as District Secretary in 2015-16, Outstanding Assistant Governor Award in 2016-17, Best Zone Governor Award in 2019-20, Skyrocker of the Year Award in 2020-21, and Rotary International Avenues of Service Award in 2022. These awards reflect his unwavering commitment to building better friendships with fellow Rotarians and community members they serve, fuelled by his belief in the Four-Way Test.
Apart from his Rotary endeavours, Satish has had a successful career that has taken him to various parts of the world. He has worked with renowned companies such as Black & Decker, Peek & Cloppenburg, and Associated Indian Exports before founding his own company, INTEX, which sources apparel and home textiles for overseas clients. In his free time, Satish indulges in various hobbies. He is an avid reader and writer with a keen interest in historical fiction and nonfiction. He also enjoys playing badminton and snooker and exploring his creative side through designing fashion and home decor.
Satish is married to Susitha, who holds a master's degree in entomology and a bachelor's degree in education from Calicut University. They have two sons, Aditya and Aryan, who are business management graduates and employed with reputed companies. The couple loves traveling and spending time with their family and friends.
